The J Report
By Genie Wood
President, JFO

Good stewardship requires total transparency in our reporting as a 501 (c)(3). Our annual report is but one way that we uphold and instill confidence about not only what we do but how we do it. <download report [PDF]>

In the last couple of months, two of our past grant recipients, Angela Williams and Sherri Taylor, lost their battle with cancer. I can personally attest to these women’s courage and grace in their final months and we are heartbroken over our loss… they are goddesses in heaven now. Both women had been in long protracted battles these past years and Juno was there to support them. Some of you will remember Angie, who spoke at our golf scramble last September. You may also remember Sherri; she spoke at our 5th gala at Embassy Suites. Each had told us how Juno meant so much to them and were deeply grateful for all of our love and support. But above all else, their wish was to give help and bring light and hope to other women who face cancer. As witness, I believe they did just that.

Also in this issue Juno is gearing up for Girls at Gay Days, June 5th-8th and supporting our local hometown host, GayDayS.com. Gay Days began in 1991 as a single designated day (always the first Saturday in June) when the LesBiGay community and friends were encouraged to "Wear Red and Be Seen" while visiting the world’s most popular theme park. Juno honors that tradition and will be at the kickoff party at the Orlando Science Center, Tuesday, June 3rd.

Be sure to check out the newest Dyning experience in this issue and save the date for our next Juno Scramble in September. Juno will also be the invited guest host at several in-home dinner parties around our community in the coming months…. hope to see you there.

We are only rich through what we give.
